• Ryan McLaughlin (right) - Director-Producer

Filmmaker Ryan McLaughlin was born in small town Iowa where he spent his early years creating videos with his friends and classmates, resulting in a scholarship to Minneapolis College of Art and Design.  Determined to work in Los Angeles, Ryan finished his education at California Institute of the Arts where he met many of the talented artists he still works with today. Many of them worked on his thesis film Bobby’s Birthday, his first production under the banner, A DOG AND PONY SHOW PRODUCTIONS.

McLaughlin then went to work for Universal Studios, editing and shooting media for the entertainment department.  As his filmmaking skills grew, so did his list of clients and eventually he was working with major brands such as Harry Potter, Chronicles of Narnia and Journey to the Center of the Earth, to name a few.

At the same time, he began creating his own projects, one of which was a labor of love: the feature documentary entitled Crescent Heights, the true story of what it’s like to believe in UFOs and how it affects one's personal life.  Recently he completed his award winning short Slippage, featuring original music by Jeremy Sisto, which won the jury award at the Beverly Hills Shorts Festival.
